Mary Ann Sovar
Mary Ann (Kopf) Sovar, age 86, of De Soto, Missouri, passed away peacefully of natural causes on July 1, 2026.
Born on July 16, 1939, Mary Ann dedicated her life to her family as a deeply loving wife, mother, and homemaker. She was a remarkably generous person who found her greatest joy in being surrounded by family and friends. Always eager to help others, she touched countless lives with her kindness and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Emma (Rotter) Kopf; her daughter, Mary; and her son, Paul.
Mary Ann’s legacy of love lives on through her devoted husband, James; her children, Daniel, Diane, Amy, and David (Amber); her beloved brother, Arthur Kopf; and the lights of her life, her 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
I love you Mom, always.
Pop and I miss you more than words can say. Love you forever Mom.
Mom, I’ll carry on your legacy by providing my children and grandchild with the same depth of love, devotion, and never-ending support that you always showed your own family. I miss you; but just as I promised in my last words to you: I’ll be OK. Rest in peace and give my 2 babies a hug from me. I like you, I love you, and you’re my beeest friend. ❤️

Some of my warmest memories from childhood are from time spent over at Aunt Mary Ann’s house. She had a way of making everyone feel at home. It’s been far too long since I saw her, but I’ve never forgotten her kindness. Thinking of Uncle Jim and all the Sovars.
