Mary Ann Weisbrod

Mary Ann (Weber, Kuhn) Weisbrod passed away peacefully at Avalon Gardens in St. Louis on January 23, 2025 at the age of 92.

She was born in Erie, PA on November 28,1932 to the late Libby (Hare) Fromknecht and Leo Weber. She was preceded in death by her husband Noble F. Weisbrod.

She is survived by her daughter Deb Kuhn and Kim Anderson of Maplewood, Mo. She is also survived by her cousins William (Sue) Long of Erie, Pa. and Julie (Jim) Taft of North Carolina.

Mary Ann grew up in Erie and graduated from Academy High School. She loved spending time with her Grandma Hare, her Aunt Mina Blair and her Aunt Mary Long as well as her cousin Jackie Betcher (all deceased).

She worked much of her life as a receptionist and was known for her clothes and matching high heels. She wore those high heels until age 86. She met her first husband, Bernard G. Kuhn (deceased) while babysitting his nieces.

She eventually moved to California which was her dream come true and she lived there over 40 years. She was a true California girl and loved being tan all year. She met her second husband when she took a job at Pure Gold citrus company. Noble would come by every day and leave his business card with a dime on it, and say “call me sometime.” She eventually did and they ended up getting married and sharing a long life together. They spent many years in Upland, CA. She was well known in her Upland neighborhood and could often be seen walking her dog Ellie (in high heels of course).

At age 85, she had to move to St. Louis, near her daughter. She did not think St Louis was California!

Mary Ann loved animals and would feed any dog or cat she saw…whether they needed it or  not. She also loved Hallmark and everyone who met her could expect to get a Hallmark card on their birthday.

She loved her friends and neighbors and will be missed by many. She was funny, generous and kind. She could also be a “handful”, earning the nickname Tiger.

The family would like to thank her caregivers Cheryl and Nan, Three Oaks Hospice, Donn, Buff, Mary  and Dr. Sewing. Also thank you to all who stayed in touch with her and looked out for her over her many years.

Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to :
