Mary B. Hornbeck

Mary was born as Mary Bernadette Thomas on August 9, 1963. Her parents were
Willie Thomas and Velvet Schaffer-Thomas. Mary had several siblings as well as
three daughters and many grandchildren. It was on March 10, 2001 when she
accepted her husband Keith Hornbeck in marriage, which they enjoyed for 18 and
1/2 years before falling asleep in death on October 22, 2019.

Mary was a talented and educated woman. She completed her education and
became a surgical technologist, a career that she enjoyed. However despite her
secular education and career nothing brought her greater joy than serving her
God Jehovah. Mary symbolized her dedication to Jehovah by baptism on July 17,
1976. It was also known that she deeply loved her husband Keith more than any
other person on Earth, yet her love for her husband was always second to her
love for Jehovah God. It was this deep love for Jehovah that moved her husband
to fall in love with her and to continue to fall deeper in love with her each day
that they shared together.

To her friends and family Mary was an individual that they could count on to
prepare wonderful and enjoyable meals. Mary was a woman that always spoke
her mind and shared the thoughts of her heart. She enjoyed life, sharing many
laughs and smiles with those she loved. To her husband she was affectionately
referred to as his Queen, because as he would say aside from Jehovah God, she
ruled his heart. Mary and her husband were so close to each other their friends
considered them inseparable. It was also very common for her husband to
describe her as the capable wife mentioned in Proverbs chapter 31.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Thomas and Velvet Schaffer
Thomas; sisters, Carmaleta Thomas Brown, Sylvia Thomas, Carlene Hall and
Darlene Taylor; brothers, Willie Thomas IV, Johnie Dee Thomas, Pierre Thomas,
and Jeffery Thomas.

She is survived by her husband Keith Hornbeck; daughters, December Wilson,
Kristann Thompson, and Loreal Wynn; son-in-law Carl Wynn; sisters, Kathleen T.
Wagner, Portland Johnson, and Sunday Thomas; brothers, Mark Thomas, Dennis
Thomas, and Paul Thomas; grandchildren, Keiyaun, James, Jahkei, J’nyah, Tristian,
Abayohmi, Kaiden, Jermal, and Sekari; great-grandchildren, Jaiden, Azariyon,
Adrian, and Tristian; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
