
Mary Charlene Black
Mary Charlene Black (née Wycoff), known affectionately by all as Charlene, peacefully passed away on June 12, 2026, at the age of 100. Born on December 9, 1925, she was the daughter of Mary Myers (Wycoff) and Charles Wycoff.
Charlene lived a full, vibrant century defined by her energetic spirit and love for life. She believed in staying active and spent her days enjoying the simple pleasures of life. Whether she was gathered around a table playing games with her friends, catching up on her favorite soap operas, or passionately cheering on her beloved St. Louis Cardinals, Charlene brought joy and a lively energy to everyone around her.
Her legacy lives on through her family, who will forever cherish her memory. She is survived by her children, Vicki Elsen of Town and Country, MO, and Steve Black and his wife, Mary Black, of Cuba, MO. She is also survived by three grandchildren: Shane Puckett and his wife, Darlene Puckett, of Liverpool, NY; Seth Black of Cuba, MO; and Sam Black of St. Louis, MO. Her love continues through her two great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Vincent Black of Osage Beach, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Charles Wycoff, and her son-in-law, Lou Elsen.
In accordance with Charlene’s wishes, her life will be celebrated privately by her family, and no formal public services will be held.
