Sunrise: May 5, 1932 ~ Sunset: September 18, 2020

“If I can help somebody, then my living will not be in vain.”

Mary Helen Bullock-Shuler was born on May 5, 1932 in Little Rock Arkansas to her parents Magdalene Holden – Gill and Will Bullock. Mary initially left Little Rock to pursue another life in New Jersey where she met her husband Alex Shuler. She then moved to New York City where they were married. When Alex lost his life in the line of duty, she remained in New York where she worked as a nurses aide, had 3 children, and a full life with family and close friends for 35 years.

Mary then returned to Little Rock where she went on to pursue her license from Children and Family Services at the University of Little Rock Arkansas. She then dedicated her home and life providing daycare and foster care services to all the neighborhood children.

Mary’s final journey landed her in Saint Louis, Missouri to reside with her sisters, her nieces, and nephews. She stayed in Saint Louis to enjoy the golden years of her life. Mary enjoyed church, cooking, and gardening, and was known for her easy going manner and her no nonsense attitude.

Mary departed this life September 18, 2020 at 4:30pm. Her memory will forever be etched in our hearts. She is proceeded in death by her husband, Alex Shuler; mother, Magdalene Gill; father, Will Bullock; brother, Will Bullock Jr.; sisters, Christine Adams, Lucille Hightower, and Earthalene Shelton.

She leaves behind her sisters ~ Alicestine Bain and Earnestine Young; her son ~ Michael Bullock; her daughters ~ Paula Bullock and Nadine Coleman; her grandchildren ~ L’Chaim Bullock, O’phir Bullock, and Talia Lloyd; her great grandchildren ~ Sade, Khaiya, Yaminya, Zahaviyah, Aviyah, Shadeeyah, Avigayil, and Ah’mree; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family, and close friends.

Jeremiah 31:13
. . . . .for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow.
“Till We Meet Again.”
May His peace be with you till we meet again.
Till we reach that distant shore.
And we’ll shed a tear no more.
May He give you strength to endure.
Till we meet again.
