Mary Helen Gibbs

Mary Helen Gibbs, 89, of Chesterfield, MO, formerly of Union City, TN, passed away on June 29, 2021.

Her daughter, me, Diane Gibbs of Chesterfield, MO and loving cat, Sophie, survive her. Her parents, John and Eva McCarty preceded her in death along with husband Allen, her sister Dorothy McCarty Marckini and 4 brothers, Bill McCarty, Paul McCarty, Jim McCarty and Donald McCarty.

“Miss Helen” as she was so well known by everyone spent the majority of her adult life as my mom and a childcare provider. She provided childcare to many children over the past 3+ decades and enjoyed her work immensely. Parents wanted a provider they could depend on, trust and responsibly care for their children. They found that and so much more in my mom. My mom was also a lover of all pets. She did lean more towards the cat family and that is where I inherited my cat love. I can only imagine how many cats, dogs and parakeets were waiting to greet her at the gates.

“If I had the chance to meet you for one last time I would just ask you to hug

me as tightly as you can, rest my head on your shoulders

… and cry until my tears ran dry. I miss you mom.”

Diane this video is so beautiful!!!!! I love and miss your mom. I miss watching her and Phyllis sitting next to each other on Christmas Eve , holding hands , discussing the Drama on the YOUNG AND RESTLESS. Lol . I also have fond memories of her is my salon chair getting beautified. I just loved to hear her stories. I have a few pieces of jewelry she took right off of herself and gave me , simply because I commented on how nice they were!!!! She was such a giving women, and wouldn’t take no for an answer. These are all the fond memories I shall cherish! ????
