Mary Jeanne (Voss) Miller
Mary Jeanne (Voss) Miller passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on July 23, 2025, at Mary Queen and Mother Nursing Facility in St. Louis, Missouri, after a protracted dementia diagnosis. Mary Jeanne was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald J. Miller, and her oldest son, Stephen G. (Diane) Miller. Mary Jeanne has seven surviving children: Mary E. (Michael) Miller-Wilson, James P. (Catherine) Miller, Margaret A. (Michael) Greene, Louise T. (Charles) Danforth, Joseph F. (Kristine) Miller, Joan F. (Michael) Bridwell and William D. (Tammy) Miller. She is survived by her only sister, Margaret (Jerry) Johnson, 22 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Mary Jeanne was born and raised in South St. Louis with her parents, Harry and Ceil Voss, and her only sister, Margie. She graduated from St. Elizabeth Academy. She met our dad, Don, at a young people’s function at St. Mary Magdalen in Brentwood. Our Dad then joined the Army and fought in the Korean War. They married shortly after his return from the service and devoted their lives to building a family, a life, and a lasting legacy.
Mary Jeanne’s primary focus her entire life was her marriage, her family, and her Catholic faith. Their marriage spanned 65 years. Mary Jeanne went to Mass every day when our dad was alive and continued going daily after he passed away. She took great pride in her gardening skills. She also loved to sew. Mary Jeanne was the secretary of the Legion of Mary at her local parish and took communion to residents in nearby nursing homes. Volunteerism was an important aspect of Mary Jeanne’s adult life.
A Celebration of Life will be held on September 13, 2025, at 10 AM at St. Gabriel the Archangel Roman Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in our mother’s memory to the Maria Shriver Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement (WAM) at the Cleveland Clinic.
I’m so sorry for your loss, but, she’s with Jesus now.
