Mary M. Duba
Mary Margaret Duba (nee Smith) passed away peacefully on November 11th at the age of 81. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Marvin C. Duba. She is survived by her children Andrew Duba (Lauren Ericson), Lorin Adcock (Steve), and Lisa Connor (Ken) and her former husband, Jim Tabor. She is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Aaron and Tim Adcock, and Emmie Connor. Mary, aka Mogy, to those who knew her from childhood, was a retired teacher’s aide at Special School District. She loved teaching kids to read both during her career in education and her volunteer work as an Oasis tutor. Mary relished making everything beautiful – she dressed impeccably, had a flair for designing and decorating her home, created festive table displays, and prepared delicious meals. Her graciousness and hospitality were appreciated by all who were welcomed into her home. Mary enjoyed volunteering at Laundry Love St. Louis, a community-based program sponsored by the Episcopal Church of the Holy Communion.
A memorial service will be held at Holy Communion, 7401 Delmar Blvd. on November 23, 2024 at 11:00 am. Mary’s family invites you to a reception afterward to share refreshments and remembrances of her. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mary’s favorite organizations or to one of your own.

We are so sorry to hear of Mrs. Duba’s passing! We absolutely loved having her as a neighbor. She was thoughtful and certainly did have beautiful taste and we enjoyed knowing Jim a little too. We enjoyed visiting her when we came back through St. Louis after moving away. May she rest in peace and may her family enjoy many lovely memories.
I taught a memorable language classroom with Mary when we both worked for Special School District of St Louis County. She was a loving, gifted educator. The children she served were blessed!
We then became close friends and shared many experiences including trips to France, England, Hawaii and most recently St. Martin in the Caribbean. We gave one another support during difficult times. She welcomed me to her lovely home each year when I returned to St Louis from Sedona. She was like a sister to me and I cherish my memories of our years together. She was an incredible, giving and kind woman. 🩷 I will miss her and appreciate her always.
Love and peace to all of your family💞💞
Sorry for you loss, wish we could be there, will be in our thoughts,
I am grateful to have known the classy and intelligent Mary during our time at Hudson. She always had a wise word and demonstrated kindness in her work. Personally I was able to witness her flair for design and decor and this left a lasting impression on me. Mary, I miss our conversations and am grateful to have known you. Thinking of your family during this time.
Her memory is a blessing
