Mary Rose McDermott (McLaughlin) December 9, 1931-January 27, 2025

Mary Rose McDermott, 93, died peacefully on Monday, 27 January 2025 at Delmar Gardens South Skilled Nursing Home in South County, Missouri, surrounded by her family.

Born in St. Louis on 9 December 1931, to the late Frieda Meyer and Edward McLaughlin, she was a homemaker, avid golfer, and talented artist. 

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Donald Anthony McDermott, beloved son Donald Anthony “Mickey” McDermott Jr., her sister Alice McLaughlin Seiving and her niece Bernadette Seiving.

Her surviving family includes five children, Kathy McCutcheon (Dr. Mark McCutcheon), Kevin (Robin) McDermott, Donna (Tony) Ward, Peggy (Skip) Franz, and Matthew (Sherry) McDermott, 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. 

Graveside service will be conducted at Jefferson Barracks Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Chaplain Joe Chapman presenting the eulogy on 19 February at 1:15 PM.
