Mary Sue Chinn Nisbet

Mary Sue Chinn Nisbet 1944 ~ 2022.  Our cherished wife and mother, Mary Sue Chinn Nisbet of St. Louis, Missouri, passed on December 13, 2022.  She was born on October 11, 1944 in Herrin, Illinois. She attended Hillsdale College, in Hillsdale Michigan, where she met her husband, Jim.   She married James (Jim) Herbert Nisbet III, on July 27, 1963.  She is survived by her husband of 59 years, James (Jim) Herbert Nisbet III, her son James (Jim) Herbert Nisbet IV (Anne), her daughter Jennifer Lea Nisbet Deaver (Shawn), four grandchildren…Katharine (Kate) Anne Nisbet (fiancé – Michael Dempster), James (Jim) Herbert Nisbet V, Michael (Mick) James Deaver and Mary Claire Deaver and several nieces and nephews.

 

Mary loved her family, her dogs, her friends, traveling the world, reading, birds, the beach, gardening, tennis, golf, skiing, cooking, entertaining, decorating, painting and the holidays.  She was an amazing wife, mother and friend, who will be missed more than words can ever express.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Ethel Chinn of Herrin, Illinois, sisters Anna Chinn Schricker and Vada Chinn Campbell and brother Edward Chinn, father and mother-in-law James Herbert Nisbet Jr. and Katharine (Kay) Crosman Nisbet, and sister-in-law Janet Nisbet Gardner.
