Mary “Therese” Stojeba

Mary Therese Stojeba (née Hippe), known as Therese or simply “T,” passed on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, November 14, 2021 with her husband, children, and grandson by her side.

Therese was an artist and creator of beauty in numerous ways. In the traditional sense, she applied her creativity to mediums spanning from painting on canvas, to landscape design and gardening, to interior décor, jewelry making, graphic arts, and had a killer fashion sense!

In many ways she brought beauty to the world with her love and light for her family and friends, brightening spaces around her and the lives of others. T had the wonderful ability to fill a room with laughter and find humor in every circumstance. Her compassion and empathy connected her to the world around her and touched so many lives in the process.

Therese’s family, husband Roger, adult children, Lea, Alex, and Grace, as well as her baby grandson, Leo, had the extraordinary privilege of experiencing the depths of her love.

Her siblings, Phyllis, Bill, Barb, Tom, and Rob, and their spouses, her nieces and nephews were equally loved by T as they loved her.

Therese donated her body to St. Louis University School of Medicine.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish to donate in Therese’s memory can contribute to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation here: https://www.bcrf.org/give

A celebration of Therese’s life will be held on Monday, November 29th from 4pm-9pm at:

Cyrnano’s Cafe
603 E Lockwood Ave
Webster Groves, MO 63119
(314) 963-3232

As this will be a party to celebrate her life, we ask that those in attendance dress for such an occasion (casual, no suit or tie necessary).

Rodger, I was sorry to hear of your wife’s passing. I know the times leading up to and then her passing must have been and will be hard for you. I know this because I experienced the loss of my first wife to cancer many years ago.
It’s good you have a large support group of family and friends to help you through these tough times. I am happy to call you a friend and am looking forward to seeing again for our various sporting activities. Until then, take care of yourself…

Diane and I regret not being able to attend the celebration of Terese’ life and exquisitely lived time here on earth. We can certainly attest to the joy, art, and light Terese brought to everyone who knew her. She amazed us with her talents, her warm personality, and her extreme perseverance in the face of all the challenges she faced head on. Our love and positive thoughts go out unending to her family

    Most sincerely,

We so enjoyed meeting and spending time with you and Therese with the Goldblatts. You didn’t have to know her long to see her humor and quiet determination. It was wonderful that Alex was back in the states to spend time with her at the end. I wish for all of you, peace, comfort, as well as warm, happy, and silly memories. She will always be alive in the people she loved.

Fond memories of my cousin Therese. We would spend quite a few Thanksgivings at her family’s home in Kirkwood, MO. There was always a lot to eat which her Mom (Aunt Pat) would always see to that. The most vivid memory is playing the board games’ GAME of LIFE and Mouse Trap. Later that night we would all gather in the basement to sing and listen to her Dad (Uncle Gill) play the accordion.

God bless you Therese. Love, your cousin, Tom
