Matthew “Tad” Thaddeus Logan
With heavy hearts, we remember a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. Tad was born in Columbia, Missouri, on May 14, 1989, to Marlin T. Logan and Ann Shultz (Victor). He passed away on October 19, 2025, at the age of 36.
Tad was pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and Human Resources, aspiring to become a youth outreach counselor for at-risk youth. He was especially proud of his 3.94 GPA, a testament to his dedication and passion.
Tad was a compassionate soul with a deep love for family, friends, and animals—especially dogs. Clothing, shoes and hats were a passion of his. Tad enjoyed drawing, singing, writing poems and songs, camping, canoeing, and spending time with his rescue dog, Tango. His favorite holiday was the Fourth of July, and he cherished the bottle rocket battles of his youth in Columbia.
As a true champion of the underdog, Tad never hesitated to lend a hand to anyone in need. His kindness, empathy, and unwavering support for others left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Tad is survived by his mother, Ann Shultz (Victor); his stepmother, Charlotte Hinton (David); and his six brothers: Christopher Salfrank, William Colbert (Duncan), Blake Logan, Austin (A.J.) Logan, Chase Logan, and Tyler Logan. He is also survived by his grandparents, Debra and Lewis (June) Tucker, and Jerry and Barbara Thorpe; numerous aunts and uncles: Elise and Herb Homeyer, Heidi and Joseph Custin, Kristina and Mac McDonald, Jim and Suzanne Shultz, Martin and Angela Shultz, Anthony and Diana Tucker, and Tara Thorpe; and dozens of cousins including Stephanie (Marlon) Peters, Brittney (Byron) Wilson, Jessica Zuilkowski, Katarina (William) Pierce, Ahreanna (Jeremy) Allen, Alex Shultz, Addie Shultz, and many more too numerous to mention.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marlin T. Logan; his cousin, Adam Custin; and his grandparents, James and Lois Shultz, and Lewis Tucker Sr.
