Melissa Parrott
March 31, 1974 – July 15, 2026
Melissa “Missy” Parrott, age 52, of Barnhart, Missouri, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2026, due to cardiac arrest. Born on March 31, 1974, in Farmington, Missy was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, great-aunt, and friend whose greatest joy in life was the people she loved. Family was everything to her, and she never missed an opportunity to remind those close to her just how much they meant to her.
Before illness changed the course of her life, Missy dedicated herself to helping others. She worked with troubled children at a children’s home, offering patience, guidance, and compassion to young people who needed someone to believe in them. She also volunteered to assist survivors of domestic violence, quietly making a lasting difference in the lives of people facing their darkest moments.
Anyone who knew Missy knew she embraced life on her own terms. She firmly believed leggings were the perfect outfit for just about any occasion and was famous for asking, “Why would anyone wear anything else?” It always earned a laugh because, to Missy, it wasn’t a question—it was simply the truth.
She never outgrew the things that made her smile. Cartoon unicorns, Hello Kitty, and anything that sparked a little joy always found a place in her heart, reminding everyone around her that you’re never too old to believe in a little magic. And then there was Eavie, her beloved cat, who wasn’t simply a pet—she was cherished family, pampered and loved beyond measure.
Although her health presented many challenges over the years, Missy faced each one with courage and determination. Even on the hardest days, her love for her family never wavered.

Celebration of Life
In true Missy fashion, she requested that there be no traditional funeral service. Instead, she wished for her family and friends to gather this fall at the family farm for a bonfire, good food, laughter, stories, and a celebration of a life well lived. Details will be shared with family and friends as plans are finalized.
Memorial Contributions
If you would like to honor Missy’s memory, the family invites you to perform a simple act of kindness, hug the people you love a little tighter, wear your favorite pair of comfortable leggings, smile when you see a unicorn or Hello Kitty, or spoil your pet just a little extra. Those small acts of love would have made Missy smile.
Although our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that the reunion she longed for has finally come. We like to imagine Jim and Jimmy waiting with open arms, welcoming her home with smiles, laughter, and the love they had missed for far too long. Until we see her again, we will carry Missy with us—in every shared laugh, every comfortable day, and every reminder that love never truly leaves us.
She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

This is a beautiful memorial to Missy and absolutely explains who she was.
