Michael Bradley
Bradley, Michael T. “Coach Iron Mike”
The joyous and most satisfying life journey for Michael T. Bradley ended on April 23, 2019. Born on July 1, 1942, in St. Louis, Missouri, he was the son of Edward A and Dorothy D (Heller) Bradley.
He leaves behind his most cherished, talented, and so dutiful wife, Ann (Carron), an incredibly kind and devoted daughter, Christina Patrick, two wonderful grandchildren, Brad Patrick, intelligent, strong, and true lover of the outdoors, and Lauren Patrick, a real sweetheart who embraces all of mankind with unconditional love, a son-in-law, Steve Patrick, hardworking and responsible, two wonderful sisters, Colleen Ragan (John) and Mary Schaffer, two sisters in law, Rachelle Bradley and Mary Ann Bradley, two brothers-in-law, Larry and Lucas Carron, numerous caring nieces and nephews on both sides of the family, and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents and siblings: Patricia, Timothy, Peg, Thomas, and Maureen.
Involved and dedicated to Education for almost four decades, he taught and counseled and coached at Augustinian Academy, Oakville Senior High, and Mehlville Senior High. During those 40 years, he formed and developed many warm friendships and relationships with so many talented, loyal, and dedicated colleagues. After retirement, many of those friendships remained intact and vibrant. Finally, and perhaps most satisfying, he kept in contact with well over a hundred of his former students. To the end, he marveled at their growth and development. Many went on to have successful careers, but far more excelled as extraordinary human beings, contributing to their communities. Always, he was so proud of these men and women. His educational philosophy was quite simple. Each student was welcomed to the classroom with no past, no reputation. He then set high expectations, and worked with those students to meet those expectations. Very seldom was he disappointed.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 11:00am at Royale Orleans, 2801 Telegraph Road, St. Louis, MO, 63125. Luncheon to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Augustinian Academy Alumni Association or the St. Louis University High School Alumni Association.
