July 27, 1936 – January 22, 2021

Myrna G. Robinett (nee Thurmond), 84, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed peacefully from complications due to COVID-19 at Mercy Hospital Jefferson on Friday, January 22, 2021.

Myrna is the daughter of the late George W. Thurmond and Dorothy E. Thurmond (nee Harrison) and her beloved step-father, John “Wes” Thurmond. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles Thurmond, Pat (Loretta) Thurmond, George Thurmond and John (Bev) Thurmond.

She is survived by her children, Kim Bowen, Kathryn “Kathy” (Bob) Davis and Jeffrey Robinett, her granchildren, Katie Bowen, Kara (Tim) Andoe, Shawn Davis, Corey Davis, Andrew (Amanda) Bowen, Dean (Jasmine Johnson) Robinett Ballenger, Christopher Davis, Ethan Zaehner and Noah Robinett, her great-grandchildren, Elijah Davis and Liam Bowen and special family, Phyllis Robinett, Linda and Jerry Robinette, Tracy Von Der Haar and Jan Green. Myrna is also survived by a sister-in-law, Ann Thurmond, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews who she cherished dearly.

She was well-known for her love for her family and would do anything and everything for them. Her unique nurturing quality brought many through her doors and she welcomed them with open heart and no judgment.

Myrna began her career as a cashier and bookkeeper for a family-owned grocery store. After continuing her education and love of numbers, her career lead her to payroll for the City of St. Louis where she eventually retired. She enjoyed her work as well as the comradarie of numerous co-workers and many friendships. She treasured the memories of the numerous bus trips with her friends to the casinos.

She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals, bingo, family vacations and our Saturday drives that took us on unknown destinations and adventures.

Myrna was strong-willed and a true survivor. She survived a train wreck, 3 armed robberies, a car-jacking, a stroke and a valiant battle with metastatic breast cancer. #myrnastrong

Myrna was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to thank her friends and relatives for being such an important part of her life.

Honoring her wishes, there will not be a formal funeral service.
