Nancy Katherine Dewolf

November 13th, 1941 – November 2nd, 2022

Nancy Katherine (nee Morrissey) DeWolf, 80, of Belleville IL, was born November 13, 1941 in Omaha, Nebraska. She passed in Town and Country, Missouri on November 2, 2022. Nancy was the second oldest of eleven children. She graduated from Notre Dame Academy in Omaha in 1959. She moved with her family to St. Louis in the summer of 1960 where Nancy worked numerous jobs before meeting her future husband Louis E. DeWolf Sr. They Married June 22, 1968, in Shrewsbury, Missouri and went on to have two children, Louie and Angie. Nancy was a loving mother and homemaker but later worked at Polly’s Paperback Exchange, HQ, and Lowe’s. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Nancy had a love for books, puzzles, and movies. Nancy was also a fun-loving game player and was always up for a game of cards around the table.

Nancy was honest, selfless, patient, and kind. She was a social butterfly who never met a stranger. She loved everyone but her greatest loves were her children and her grandchildren. They were her entire world.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, William Gerald Eugene, and Adelaide Caroline (nee Brummer) Morrissey, stepmother Rebecca Lawler Morrissey, in-laws Louis D. DeWolf and Clorene E. DeWolf, her ex-husband Louis E. DeWolf, sister-in-law Joan DeWolf, brother-in-law Don Emmons, and several extended family members.

Nancy is survived by her son Louis E. (Tonja) DeWolf Jr., her daughter Angela M. (Aaron) Mittelbuscher, her siblings, Mary Sharon Emmons, Janet (Robert) Collins, Michael (Gail) Morrissey, Ralph (Patricia) Morrissey, Margie Morrissey, John (Christia) Morrisey, Denise (D.S.) Dickerson, Dennis Morrissey, James (Joanne) Morrissey, Joseph (Tonya) Morrissey, sister-in-law Patricia DeWolf, brother-in-law Robert DeWolf, brother-in-law William DeWolf (Jay Thomeczek), her grandchildren Jordan DeWolf (Chelsea Simmons), Hunter Wilkinson, Landen DeWolf, Laine DeWolf, Mason Mittelbuscher, Lindley DeWolf, Aidan Mittelbuscher, Camden Mittelbuscher, and great-grandchildren Kynsleigh Simmons, Huxton DeWolf and many other family and friends who love her.

A visitation will be held Saturday, November 12, 2022, from 10am to 11am at Saint Michael the Archangel Church in Shrewsbury, Missouri. A mass of Christian burial will be held immediately following at 11am with the reverend Donald Henke presiding.

    Nancy was a precious gift to our family, and a blessing to all whose life she touched. My heart breaks for you, Angie and Louie, and for your families. May treasured memories of time spent with her comfort you.

    Having helped to raise me, my sister, Nancy played an integral role in my life early on. I will remember her with great joy, love, admiration, and appreciation, for she was such an inspiration.
