Nora Rivera

Nora Ann McKeown Rivera passed away peacefully on the morning of Friday, February 2nd, 2018 after a long battle with emphysema and pneumonia. She was a registered nurse and practiced her career for 17 years.

A Pennsylvania native and an Ohio resident for the majority of her 20s before officially settling down in Florissant, Missouri, she loved nothing more than sharing time and catching up with friends/family. It was often during these conversations that she would spill some beans and provide some realness to those who needed a bit of her loving guidance.

Nora had the most loving soul. She called everyone “babe” and meant it with every ounce of endearment it implies. Every person that stepped foot into her life automatically became another adopted family member to her. This included friends of her husband and daughters and all boyfriends that were bravely presented to her. For this reason, she has an enormous loving family spread across the world.

Nora has promised to watch over her husband Andres and two daughters, Allana and Daniella; her sister Kathy Schmidt and her husband Edward (Ed) Schmidt; her brother David Crooks and his wife Patricia (Pat); her mother-in-law Fabiola; her brother in law Felipe Rivera; her sister in law Lucia De Blaze and her husband Vince De Blaze; her nephew Jonathan (Johnny) Onesty and his wife Jennifer; her niece Jennifer Dunn and her husband Randy together with their daughters Madison, Morgan and Makenzie; her niece Christine Mast and her husband Edward (Eddie) Mast together with their daughter Courtney and son Joe; her nephew Edward (little Eddie) Schmidt and his wife Jill.

Nora was such a revered woman for many reasons, but she was mostly loved her “keeping it real because I love you” attitude and big heart. Many people are very saddened by her death, but she’d like everyone who loved her to celebrate her life and not mourn her death. Feed a hungry (or not so hungry) friend, share a hug with someone or get into a giggle session with your family- all of these things are what Nora did best, and anytime you share special moments like this, she is with you in spirit.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the American Lung Association or The Humane Society (she loved dogs and cats). Or…do something nice for someone.
