Sargent, Norma

Norma M. Sargent

Norma M. Sargent of O’Fallon, Missouri passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at the age of 74.

Norma was the dear daughter of the late Norm and Lois Patti; devoted wife of the late John Sargent; beloved mother of James (Tina) Sargent, the late John Sargent and the late Norman Sargent; cherished grandmother of Hans Kristian and the late Anthony Sargent, and dear sister of Michael Patti and the late David Patti.

Norma always had the passion and drive of a consummate business woman who successfully owned and operated her own business for many years. She enjoyed cooking and reminiscing about the special memories from the times when she and her family spent traveling together.  Norma was a class act who always did the right thing with a kind heart.  She devoted her life to her family who she loved deeply and she served as the fabric that held them together.  Norma was also known for her calm and pleasant demeanor who was always there for everyone and anyone who needed her, whether they needed someone to talk to, consult for advice, or just needed someone to be a sounding board.  She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

She will be missed greatly by us. We are grateful that we had known her for the 20 years myself and George over 30 years. The stories told, the good times, laughs and great company will never be forgotten. She is now reunited with her loving husband John, son Norman and grandson Anthony. They are all missed by us. May they all be at peace and happy again.

My Aunt Patti was someone very special to me. She taught me to write mybname in cursive when I was 7, would send me beautiful dolls from Saudi Arabia and Switzerland, introduced me to Chanel makeup, opened up a whole new world by teaching me accounting….because of her, I am where I am today in my career. We would have great phone conversations, laugh over memories of mamaw, she was always answering my endless questions regarding business, never afraid to put me in my place when I needed it and always showed me unconditional love. She never forgot a birthday or special occasion and even though I had not been able to see her in a long time, we always kept in touch. God Bless America, I miss you so much already! Sending all my love and prayers to James, Tina and Hans. Love you all!

    James and Tina,

I am so sorry to find out about Pat leaving us. I tried to send her an email today and got a returned email which led me to do a search for her and found this.

She and John were both good people. She and I spent a lot of hours together while I worked on her computers. She was a great person to talk to and was always ready to laugh.

I loved being around her and will miss her very much.

    Dear James, Tina, and family,

So sorry to hear of Pat’s passing. Fred told me about it yesterday. Pat holds a very special place in my heart and memory. She was the one who mentored me and helped me as I worked towards my accounting degree many years ago. She was an excellent teacher, friend, and later business associate. Over the years we had lost touch, but her excellence and place in my life will always be deeply appreciated and fondly remembered. I also truly loved her sense of humor and her hearty laugh. I pray God’s comfort for you all in this time of grieving but also pray your memories of her will cheer you.
    Sincerely Kathy Smith
