Norman Eugene Pierson

Norman Eugene Pierson, 90, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on August 22, 2024. A cherished husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and uncle. Norman’s life was defined by his dedication to family, his love for the Lord, and his generous and protective spirit.

Norman was married to his devoted wife, La Verne Pierson (née Berres) for 70 years. Together, they nurtured a loving family, including their four children: N. Rodney Pierson, Greg (Janice) Pierson, Lisa (George) Oberfeld, and Steve Pierson. Norman’s legacy also includes his grandchildren: Sarah (Collin) Menkhus, Gregory Pierson, Tricia (Jeremy) Puentes, Amber Pierson, Zachary Oberfeld, Steven Pierson, and Matthew Pierson, as well as his great-grandchildren: Catherine Menkhus, Maddyn Puentes, Maeryn Puentes, and Nico Puentes.

Each of them brought immense joy to his life.

Norman’s was a life well lived! Born on February 3rd, 1934, he was the youngest of 10 children and just approaching his 7th birthday when his mother died in an automobile accident. It is hard to imagine the pain, sense of loss, and fear he must have felt. At the tender age of 20, Norman married La Verne Berres – the best thing that could have ever happened to him. Their 70th wedding anniversary was celebrated this past May 1st, just 3 months after Norman celebrated his 90th birthday.

A Memorial Service to Celebrate Norman’s life will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024, with visitation at 11:00 am and service at 12:00 pm, with luncheon to follow at Most Sacred Heart Church, Eureka; 350 E. 4th St., Eureka, MO 63025.

Norman. Your legacy of love, laughter, and adventure will forever inspire and uplift those fortunate enough to have known you!

Norman always treated me as one of his own grandkids, when I was a little girl. He was so kind to me. I have great memories playing Canasta with the family. I will always cherish those memories. May he rest in peace.
