Norman Francis Holmes

Norman Francis Holmes passed away peacefully at his home on December 7th, 2018 at the age of 90. He was born in Boone Terre, Missouri on the 17th of November, 1928.

Norman was predeceased by his mother, Reva Holmes nee Kerlagon, and his father, Raymond Holmes.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 71 years, Helen Holmes nee Cunningham. Norman is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Daneen Holmes; his son-in-law, David Chatman; his grandchildren Thomas and Lesley Chatman; and his great-grandchildren Wyatt and Levi.

Norman was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a Korea War era veteran, and served on admiral’s staff aboard a number of battleships. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, Norman became the owner/operator of Holmes Tomboy grocer in Farmington, IL.

    so sorry to hear about the passing of norman. i had a great respect for norman, and wished we could have seen more of each other.
