Orzella Barton

LIFE REFLECTIONS

Orzella Barton was born on February 17, 1950 in St Louis, Missouri to Willie and Antonia (Taylor) Barton. Orzella was blessed to be reared from an early age in the loving family of Augustus “Gus” and Marie (Franklin) McMillian. She was baptized at an early age at Union Memorial United Methodist Church.

She was educated in the St Louis public schools. She worked as an assistant to teachers at Gateway Elementary MST School. She also worked at Harper Corner Store.

Orzella always had a great love of art, especially drawing, from a young age. When she was a resident of the Oak Park Rehabilitation Center, she often volunteered to assist staff with decorating the facility for special occasions and holidays. Staff often expressed great pleasure with her ability to make the facility inviting to other residents and guest.

Prior to being admitted to Christian NE Hospital, Orzella was in-residence at SSM’s The Estates Rehabilitation Facility. On January 19, 2018, Orzella was called from labor to reward peacefully at the hospital’s Palliative Care ward with her son, Gerald; her sisters Wilma and Laura and her Aunt Carline at her bedside.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her beloved son, Gerald A. Barton; sisters: Laura (Ernest) Stewart; Sylvia Barton (pre-deceased); (Wilma (Charlie, Jr.) Gentry; Collette S. Sledge, and brother, Leon Barton; Granddaughters: Mariah and Cheyenne; Grandsons: Gerald Jr., Johnathan, and Jacob Barton; aunts: Carline G. Buchanan, Eugenia ‘Ellen’ Beal, Dorothy Dinwiddie; Nieces: Elishva (David) Blevins, Alayna Stewart, Cecelia (Emmett) Ross, Tiffany Harold; Great-Nephew, Jahmir D. Blevins; Nephews: Charlie Gentry, III, Demetrius Harold; God-Son, Robert A. Sledge; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Dear Friends,

Everyone who sat, prayed and provided supportive care for Orzella your tender love will always be remembered. The family wishes to express our sincere appreciation and heartfelt thanks for your prayers, cards, phone calls and all acts of kindness. Special thanks to: Oak Park Care Center and SSM’s The Estates Rehabilitation Facility.

Love,

The family of Ms. Orzella Barton

To the family of Orzella Barton , we at Truth That Exist For The Wise Ministries sends our deepest condolences in the transition of your love one . We know that
GOD gives Power to the faint; and to them that have no might He increases our strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Our continual prayers will be with your family at this time of strengthening, hope, joy and blessings from our Father, in Jesus Christ name amen.
