Patricia Ann Swisher

Patricia Ann Swisher, 63, of Wentzville, MO died peacefully in her home on March 16, 2021 with her husband and son by her side. She spent her final days surrounded by family.

Patty was born to Vern and Mary (Soday) Frank in Pensacola, Florida on January 10, 1958. She met her husband Mike Swisher of 34 years in Dayton, OH while serving in the United States Air Force. They were blessed with one son, Jonathan Swisher of Chicago, Illinois.

After staying at home to raise her son, Patty became a lifelong educator. She joined the Mexico School District and taught math at both the middle and high schools. She retired in 2016 and relocated to Wentzville, MO in 2017 where she spent her days babysitting her great nieces and great nephew. She also became an integral part of her community and served as the President of the Glenhurst HomeOwners Association, volunteered in the nursery at 2Rivers Church, and worked endlessly as the Registrar for the Belleville Chapter National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Patty always made everyone feel loved and special, ever sacrificing to put the needs of others before her own. Above all, Patty loved being a mother and she cherished the time she spent with her family. Her great-nieces and nephews held a very special place in her heart. She took delight in cooking, swimming, cross-stitching, sharing family recipes, doing puzzles, and researching her ancestry. She was a devoted St. Louis Cardinals and Blues fan and could often be seen wearing their team attire.

Patty is survived by her loving husband Mike Swisher: beloved son Jonathan Swisher; step-children Anna Trent (Ron), Michael Swisher (Kendra), and Stacey Swisher; sisters Cindy Campbell (Chuck), Melodi Hendrickson (Dan), and Mary Wisdom (Kerry); brother Vernon Frank (Lisa); sister-in-laws Susan Harris (James), Melody Kelly, and Jean Overmyer (Willard); brother-in-laws Phillip Swisher (Candy) and Steven Swisher; step-grandchildren Rachel, Justin, Elizabeth, Chris, Evan, Ashley, Braden and Kelton; step-great grandchildren Bentley and Aleigha; Aunt Patty to Brandy, Kari, Megan, Charlee, Daniel, Christina, Sam, Kacey, Kory, Hayden, and Connor; Great Aunt to August, Addison, Ashton, Kyle, Drew, Ella, Josh, Clara, David, Campbell, Dawson, Stevie, Brooks, Erynn, Marah, James, Leighla, Ellen Chantel, Kinley, Kyla, Teigen, and Kali; and is preceded in death by her grandparents Clarence and Violet (Thiesen) Frank, George and Buelah (D’Angelo) Soday and parents Vern and Mary (Soday) Frank.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time. Patty will be laid to rest with military honors at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Heartland Hospice Care.
