Patricia (Pat) Cooseman

Patricia (Pat) Drewett Cooseman (nee Hillemeyer) passed away on November 4, 2024 at St. Agnes Home.  She was born on November 8, 1926, the youngest of nine children, to Joseph and Ida Hillemeyer. The family resided in Webster Groves where Pat attended Holy Redeemer Catholic School, Webster High and Miss Hickey’s Business School.  She married the love of her life, Charles “Jack” Drewett, on October 9, 1948.  Over the next seventeen years, they welcomed ten children and made a white brick house in Crestwood THE gathering spot for all things family and friends.  After Jack’s sudden death in 1973, God eventually brought Leo Cooseman into Pat’s life. They married on May 30, 1975 and remained so until his death in 2019.

Throughout her life, Pat was a devout Catholic, a living example and promoter of her faith.  For more than sixty years, she was a parishioner and mainstay of St. Elizabeth of Hungary, where her children attended elementary school.  She displayed generosity to countless individuals and charitable/humanitarian organizations. Pat volunteered at Meals on Wheels, and her Buick could often be spotted flying down Big Bend all in the name of philanthropy.

Pat avidly prayed the rosary, read the newspaper, and was a lover of classic films.  She wasn’t afraid to speak her mind; for better or worse, she would let you know if you needed to lose weight, stop living in sin, or get to Mass.  She could school anyone in a game of Solitaire, Bridge or Scrabble.  Pat was a meat and potatoes kind of gal.  She had a penchant for eating desserts; and, despite being lactose intolerant, she never turned down a bowl of ice cream.

Pat is survived by her ten children:  Ann (Scott) Million, Bob Drewett, Kathy (Michael, deceased) Schlueter, Don (Beanie) Drewett, Beth Drewett, Janet (Scott) Finke, Dorothy (Dan) Beetz, Chuck (Cindy) Drewett, Jean (Pete) Minton and Amy Payne; thirty-five grandchildren, and forty-one great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death (and now reunited) with her parents, eight siblings and their spouses, Jack Drewett, Leo Cooseman, her son-in-law (Michael Schlueter), and grandson (Stacy Schlueter).

Funeral Services:  Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at St. Raymond-St. Elizabeth Maronite Catholic Church, 1420 S. Sappington Rd., Crestwood, MO 63126.  Visitation at 10 am; Rosary at 10:30 am; and Mass of the Resurrection at 11 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Agnes Home, Missouri Right to Life or St. Raymond-St. Elizabeth Maronite Catholic Church.
