Dr. Patrick E. Oberle

June 13th, 1952 – December 30th, 2024

Dr. Patrick Oberle, 72, of St. Louis, MO, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2024, surrounded by his loving wife and children.

Patrick Oberle was born on June 13, 1952, in Omaha, NE. At an early age he relocated to Florissant, MO where he spent his childhood and teenage years. After graduating from McCluer High School in 1971, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, proudly serving as a hospital social worker in Germany during the final years of the Vietnam War.

Following his military service, Patrick attended Florissant Valley Junior College and Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville, where he played tennis and studied Biology and Chemistry. He then pursued a degree in chiropractic care at Logan College and graduated in 1981. He went on to dedicate the next 28 years to the healing profession at Family Chiropractic Center in Bridgeton, MO.

Patrick’s work as a chiropractor was more than a profession—it was his calling. Through his hands and heart, he touched the lives of many, from friends to Ironman World Champions. He was a gifted healer, teacher, and mentor, always focused on the well-being of his patients and the professional development of the many associates who joined his practice. He made a lasting impact on his community and helped countless people.

Above all, Patrick’s greatest joy was his family. He was married for 39 wonderful years to Donna, the love of his life. Together, they raised four children and created a home filled with love, laughter, and faith. Patrick was a proud father and grandfather, cherishing his role as “Paw Paw” to 12 grandchildren who adored him.

In addition to his love for family, Patrick had a deep passion for life’s simple pleasures. He enjoyed gardening, grilling, skiing, golfing, and traveling to visit lifelong friends. He loved hosting, continually opened his home to all, and knew no strangers. His heart was especially devoted to his faith, and he found great joy in making and gifting wooden plaques that spelled “JESUS,” a tradition passed down from his Grandpa Rex.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jerry and Elaine Oberle, along with his brother John Oberle, nephew Taylor Bookout, brother-in-law William “BJ” Young, and niece Valarie Drewer.

Patrick is survived by his loving wife, Donna, and their children: Shannon (Roger) Gemoules, Amy (Ben) Schirmer, Shawn (Hannah) Oberle, and Rex (Jill) Oberle. He was a proud grandfather to Riley, Mason, Braylen, Paisley, Emma, Ellie, Zeke, Luke, Pete, Sam, Ike, and Fitz. He is also deeply missed by his siblings: Michelle Weeks, Madaline (Don) Bookout, Deborah Oberle, and Jerry Oberle, as well as a large extended family of in-laws, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Pat took me in as very young employee. Payed for me to go to school and taught me a VERY STRONG work ethic! But that was just work Dr. Oberle. Then I get to know his small children. Donna was pregnant with Rex. I loved them ALL! Shannon, Amy, Sean and baby Rex. We became friends. Then after a shy Donna and I played sports together we had a true connection! The LOVE for God and being a good friend. I am forever BLESSED to be a part of the Oberle family that they so genuinely welcomed!!!!! Donna, i love you!!!!! Always prayers! ❤️. I’m here when you need me.❤️. Amy

We still have the wooden JESUS sign he made for many who went on our Mexico Missions group one year. Pat was a very special influence and passionate about his family, work and GOD. Heaven has gained another angel.

‘Doc’ was the best boss I ever had. I learned so much from him. His love for his family and many patients that he treated like family was admirable. Prayers for comfort and peace for you, Donna, and all the families. Love ya, brother. See you later.

I’m so proud of Pat he came from humble beginnings and a troubled youth with the help and support of his parents and immediate family, Jerry Oberly married into an established situation with little regard for the circumstances and helped make into the fine man he was. I’m sure he has passed on all of his great traits to his direct descendants. I know that I speak for all of the cousins (even those in Hawaii)when I say he is missed and we wish him god speed. Pat just know you are blessed by God and we were blessed to have you here when we did.

I am a member of the Maryland Heights community center where Patrick would come in and work out. He always had kind and inspirational words. Yes, he also gave me a Jesus plaque, I cherished it then, and now it means even more to me. He will be missed by everyone he ever came into contact with.

He has been a friend for over 50 years and his little sister was my very first girlfriend❤️ In the past year I was helping him sell his sports card and memorabilia collection and we had gotten closer than we had ever been. He invited me to be with him and his family on Thanksgiving and Christmas because he knew I had lost my father and struggling with the loss. He was a warm, loving, caring man and I was blessed to have him in my life and to be a part of his. I love Pat and am heartbroken that he’s no longer with us, but will live forever in our hearts 💕 I am comforted by the fact he was so close to Jesus and his life was dedicated to The Lord. He will be missed and touched many lives.
Godspeed my friend Rest In Peace 🙏 Thanks for your love
