Paul J. Rutterer, 67, died peacefully on November 10, 2016.

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was the oldest of six children – Joan Hill, Sharon Stanton, Beryl Rotunno, Chris Rutterer (deceased), and Mary Rutterer. Paul earned Phi Beta Kappa honors from Saint Louis University and a Juris Doctorate from Saint Louis University School of Law. As an attorney, he worked for several corporations, including Missouri Pacific Railroad, Union Pacific Railroad, ITT Financial Corporation, TWA, and Charter Communications. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Valerie (Davis); three children – Meg Dolan (Kevin), Katie Rutterer (Sam Daughety), Phil Rutterer (Kristin); four grandchildren – Kate, Wilson, Rose, and Thomas. Paul served in various volunteer positions for Ste. Genevieve du Bois CYC athletics where he was a parishioner for 20 years. He was a proud supporter of the SLU Billikens and donated his body to Saint Louis University School of Medicine.

A memorial Mass will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, November 18 at St. Francis Xavier College Church. Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. in the Church and a reception in the Church Ballroom will follow the service.

The family requests memorial donations be directed to Saint Louis University School of Law, St. Louis Area Foodbank or charity of choice.
