June 7, 1938 – November 21, 2024

Paul R. Fox passed away November 21, 2024, at the age of 86 years old. Beloved

husband of the late Gale (Johnson) for 28 years. Loving father of Paula Howard (Craig

Stratmann) and Julia Ebenreck (Paul). Cherished ‘Pawpaw’ to granddaughters Erin

Bradley (Matthew), Madelyn Ebenreck, and great-granddaughter Ellistyn Bradley. Dear

brother of John ‘Jerry’ Fox, Jane Grace, Frankie Barker, James ‘Jimmy’ Fox, Wesley

Fox, Richard Fox, Sue Darby, uncle, great-uncle, great-great uncle, and friend to many.

Paul served in the United States Navy and retired in 1999 after 38 years at

Southwestern Bell Telephone. In retirement he could be found at the family farm in

Southern Illinois, driving a tractor or fixing anything, and was affectionately known as

‘MacGyver.’ He was the original ‘girl dad’ who loved his granddaughters and great

granddaughter and was truly their hero. He enjoyed a good Stag beer, the long-lost

Hawaiian Blizzard at Dairy Queen and reminiscing with his ‘phone buddies.’ Paul’s

quiet demeanor, willingness to help anyone and his dry sense of humor will be sorely

missed!

Private interment will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
