Paula Jean Bailey

September 28th, 1955 – May 7th, 2025

Paula Jean Bailey (née Cripps), age 69, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family after bravely facing several years of health challenges. Born on September 28, 1955, Paula brought joy, laughter, and light into the world from the very beginning.

Paula was a force of nature—joyous, fun-loving, fiercely independent, and deeply devoted to her family. Her contagious laugh, quick wit, and boundless sarcasm were trademarks that made every gathering brighter. She had a way of making everyday life feel magical and special, especially for those lucky enough to be loved by her.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Gerald Bailey Jr.; her daughters Christina (Tim) Gray and Laura (Keegan) Emmert; and her treasured grandchildren Keilani, Teigan, Leisel, and Killian, who were the absolute light of her life. Paula is also survived by her loving mother, Doris Cripps; her brother, Arthur Cripps Jr.; and many dear friends who were more like family. She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Cripps, and her sister, Charlotte (Rick) Carr.

Paula spent over four decades with Schnucks, where she took on many roles and built lifelong friendships. Outside of work, she was an avid bowler, a sun-lover, and a fan of travel, bingo, gardening, and baseball games. But above all, her greatest joy came from time spent with her grandchildren and the people she loved most.

A celebration of Paula’s life will be held later this year, with details to be shared in the coming months. Until then, her family takes comfort in the legacy of love, laughter, and strength she leaves behind.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

I have loved Aunt Paula my whole life. I don’t know how my heart continues beating with all this loss lately, losing Mom too, but as long as it does I’m here if you need to talk.
