Philip H. Stevison

Philip H. Stevison, 73, passed away peacefully at his home on June 11, 2024.  He was the husband of Patricia (Mills) Stevison.  Together, they shared 50 years of marriage.

 

Phil was the son of John and Helen (Merz).  He was born on July 19th, 1950 in Kansas City, MO but lived most of his life in St. Louis. He attended St. Luke’s grade school in Richmond Heights and graduated from Mercy High School in University City. He earned a bachelors degree in history and political science from UMSL.  After a few years on the playground, he changed direction and went on to a long career as a meter-reader for Union Electric.

 

He was a parishioner of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Soulard where he helped with the meals program.  He enjoyed hiking, going on vacation, and spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his kind and loving heart and he was always willing to go out of his way to help people any way he could.

 

He is survived by his wife, Pat, his  son Mark (Beth), and three grandsons, Craig (Kala), Kyle, and Cole, and his three brothers, Tom (Mary), Jerry (Jackie), and Denny (Anne Parker)  He was the beloved brother-in-law to Judy (Randy) Hunter and loving godfather to Therese (Stevison) Nims.  He was an amazing cousin, loving uncle and great friend to many.

 

A memorial mass for Phil will be held on July 20th, 2024 at 10:30am at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church located at 1919 S. 7th St., St. Louis, MO 63104. We will have Phil’s favorite breakfast item (donuts) and share some fellowship in the back of church after mass.

 

We ask that any memorial donations be made to BJC hospice Evelyn’s house located at 1001 N. Mason Road, Creve Coeur, MO  63141.
