Ralph Leroy Broeker

Ralph Leroy Broeker, of Saint Charles, MO, peacefully passed away at his home surrounded by his Family on Saturday, March 16th, 2024 at the age of 86. He was born on March 31st, 1937 in Wellston, MO. Ralph was preceded in death by his loving parents Arthur Emil Broeker and Margaret Marie Daven, and his three brothers Arthur H. Broeker, Robert J. Broeker, Frederick W. Broeker. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 54 years Billie C. (McCarthy), cherished daughter Erica Gittemeier (Duane), son James A. (Amy Huntley), grandchildren Jayden, Abigail, and Connor, and numerous extended Family members throughout the Broeker Family Tree.  

Upon graduation from Wellston High School in 1955, Ralph began his banking career in the St. Louis area at The State Bank and Trust Company of Wellston. During his 25 years at State Bank, he had the opportunity to learn the operations of all departments in the bank. He joined Mercantile Bank in 1980, serving as branch manager, cashier, and senior vice president. In 1995, Ralph returned to community banking when he joined Royal Banks of Missouri where he was senior vice president and cashier. His vast banking career spanned over 60 years, and his philosophy about banking was that bankers always need to build relationships with their clients that mutually benefit the client and the bank.  

Ralph was engaged and active in various community affairs throughout the Saint Louis and Saint Charles communities over the years including 9 years serving on the Pattonville School District School Board, volunteering with The Variety Club Marathon of St. Louis, and as treasurer and a board member of the Olive Business Association. 

He was an active participant in the American Institute of Banking and attended St. Louis University. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or Variety of the Children’s Charity of Saint Louis are appreciated.

Service and burial are private.
