Randolph Wilkins

Randolph Wren Wilkins, MSgt, USAF (Ret.) passed away, peacefully with his wife and daughter by his side on 7 August 2023.  Randy was born in Culver City, California on 23 Dec 1948 to Edward M. and Mary K. “nee Larson” Wilkins.  He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 37 years Rebecca F. “nee Birtles”, daughter Chrystal Renee White, granddaughter Bryce Marie “nee Wilkins” and her husband Glenn Lightsey, grandson Jordan White, and great grandsons Robert, Liam, Eli and Beckett. Randy served as law enforcement in the United States Air Force from 1968 to 1992, having been stationed in Hawaii, California, Alaska, Germany, Italy, and New Mexico.  His military duties took him to various locations in Southeast Asia, Korea, Vietnam, Japan, Guam, and the Philippines. Randy also had an extensive career outside the military as Security Officer for the St. Louis Housing Authority, Antiterrorism Officer for the Department of Defense Schools in Europe, Missouri State Investigator, St. Louis Department of Fraud and Noncompliance, and the Department of Consumer Fraud for the Attorney General. In 2012, Randy retired from his last position with the State of Missouri.  In 2016, he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from St. Louis University.

Randy most enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, especially traveling to Walt Disney World.  Notably a big fan, he attended opening day at Disneyland in 1955. He had many beloved hobbies, especially collecting model trains and attending train shows. He had a fondness for military history, airplanes, racing and working on classic cars. In his younger years, he was an avid surfer and beach goer.  Traveling for his career and personal interests allowed him to meet individuals such as Chuck Yeager, Carroll Shelby, Bob Hope, Morgan Fairchild, Naomi Judd and numerous others.  He also had the opportunity to be an extra in the film “Tora! Tora! Tora!”. Randy loved telling jokes and making people laugh. He was greatly loved and will be missed by his family and friends who he shared so many wonderful stories and memories. 

Memorial services and final interment will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery on 10 Oct 2023 at 1:00pm.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to a veteran association of your choosing in honor of Randy.
