Randy Leyen
Randy Joe Leyen of O’Fallon, Missouri, formerly of Iowa Falls, Iowa, passed away
on March 9, 2022.
Randy was born February 20, 1952, in Chicopee, Massachusetts, to Charles Leyen
and Ruth (Adelmund) Leyen.
Randy was a 1970 graduate of Iowa Falls High School, Iowa Falls, IA. After high
school, Randy enlisted in the United States Navy. He was granted a hardship
Honorable Discharge in 1972. Randy went on to work in the printing industry for
many years. In his younger years, Randy was an avid bowler, participating in
many State and National Bowling tournaments.
In 1992, Randy moved to Missouri. On February 18, 1994, he married Teresa
(Klemp) McMullen. They made their home in O’Fallon, MO where they raised
their five children. His last 10 years on employment were spent as a custodian for
the Wentzville School District. Randy retired in October of 2022. Despite living in
Missouri, Randy stayed a devout Iowa Hawkeye fan!
Randy is preceded in death by his parents and his oldest brother, Terry Leyen.
Randy is survived by his wife, Terry and their five children: Brant (Amanda)
McMullen of Haslet, Texas; Kyle (Teresa) McMullen, Evan (Jenn) McMullen,
Allyson Leyen, and Alex Leyen all of O’Fallon, Missouri; one sister, Charlene
Warmbier of Concord, North Carolina; One brother, Thomas Leyen of Sumter,
South Carolina; sister-in-law Linda Leyen of Bracey, Virginia, and sister and
brother-in-law, Craig and Karla Neel of Des Moines, Iowa. Randy was blessed with
7 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Per Randy’s request, his body was cremated, and no formal service is planned.
The family will be receiving condolence calls at St. Peter’s Academy of Dance, 93
Vantage Drive, St. Peters, Missouri on Sunday, March 20th from 1-3 p.m CST for
those who wish to offer condolences and pay their respects.

Sorry to hear of Randy’s passing. He was a good friend during high school
So sad to read of Randy’s passing.
I worked with Randy at BTE School in the Wentzville School District, and a sometimes with him at Pearce Hall.
