Raymond E. Orr

Raymond E. Orr passed away Thursday, September 27, 2012 at 8:22 a.m. Loving husband of Grace (Rivenberg-Curtright) Orr and the late Frances (Guccione) Orr. Dear father of Ray (Joann), Anthony (Jennifer) and Joe Orr. Grandfather to Nicholas Orr, Angie (Mike) Mitulski and Jamie Orr. Great Grandfather to Kinley Louise Orr. Stepfather to Dave Curtright. Step-grandfather to Terra, Nathan, Nicholas and Tiffany (Chris)Butts. Step Great-Grandfather to Kyle, Tristan, and Taylor.
Ray was a World War II Veteran who was one of the few survivors of the USS Hoel that went down in the South Pacific.
Ray was a resident of the St. Louis Missouri Veterans Home for 15 months. A very special thanks to the dedicated nurses, physial therapists, social workers Delores and Jennifer, Alysa, Betty and all employees who made his stay comfortable.
We especially want to thank Vivian for seeing that Ray attended activities and for the beautiful song she sang for Ray at the Traditional Ceremony at St. Louis Missouri Veterans Home honoring a deceased Veteran.
A Memorial Service will be held at Bellefontaine United Methodist Church 10600 Bellefontaine Road, St. Louis, MO 63137, on Thursday, October 4 at 10:30 a.m. Interment Jefferson Barracks 12:30 p.m. Memorials to Wounded Warrior Project. They can be reached at woundedwarriorproject.org
