
Richard Francis Jansen
Richard Francis Jansen passed away peacefully on May 13, 2025, at the age of 85. He
was born in 1939 on June 27 th . He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Julia Jansen
(nee Moore) and children Jody McClarin and Richard Jansen (Esti). He had 4
grandchildren Curtis McClarin (Keely), Cori McClarin, Nadia Jansen, and Eva Jansen
and a great grandson Riley McClarin. He is predeceased by his oldest sister Jean
Hauser (Richard) and is lovingly remembered by his older brother David Jansen
(Shelia), twin brother Robert Jansen (Cam), and younger sister Judy Hamilton (Craig).
Richard was born in St. Louis Missouri and graduated from Cleveland High School
Class of 1957. He married his high school sweetheart, Julia, in 1960. He worked for
Monsanto/Solutia as a chemical lab technician in research and development for over 40
years. His favorite activities included traveling, camping, canoeing, woodworking,
building and fixing things around the house, astronomy, barbecuing, and dancing with
the love of his life. He was always there to cheer on his children and grandchildren in
their activities and loved family gatherings. He maintained friendships with his old work
friends and looked forward to their weekly meetings at the American Legion.
Richard will be missed by everyone that knew him. Join us for a celebration of his life
