Richard Humphrey

Richard W. (Dick) Humphrey, age 87 of Lake St. Louis, Missouri, husband of Jennifer Humphrey died on June 3, 2024. Funeral arrangements TBD.

Dick was born July 26, 1936, in St. Paul, Minnesota to William and Dorothy Thompson Humphrey.

Dick graduated from Kenmore High in Kenmore, New York and attend the University of Buffalo. Dick is a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean conflict. He loved hockey and he himself played high school, public and military hockey. After his duty of Service to his country, Dick became an employee of the Delaware and Hudson Railway of New York where he spent his career of 32 years with his final position being Vice President of the Paper Division. Dick enjoyed playing golf, volunteering at East Cooper Community Outreach and his time at his church.

Dick was married early on to Carol Johnson and to that Union three children were born. The eldest being Paul (Debbie) Weldon Spring, MO, Jim (Loraine) of Nashville, TN, and Ronald (Jennifer) of Oakville, MO. He is the grandfather to Mark, Robert, Danielle, Rachel, and Zach Humphrey and great-grandfather to Conor, Evan, and Jasper Humphrey.

He later met and married Jennifer Griffin and was married for 36 years who died September 16, 2020. From this union he inherited two more sons, Christian (Nicole) of Las Vegas, NV, Brett (Allison) Griffin of St. Charles, MO, and two more grandsons, Grayson and Max Griffin.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Dick’s remembrance to St. Jude Hospital for Children.

    Dad will be missed by our entire family and he is in a better place right now. He was loved by the entire family, including his, sons, grandsons and great grandsons.
    He was a beloved husband, father, children, grandchildren and great grandpa.

    Rest in Peace and we will love you forever. I will miss you.

    I knew Dick from our time on the D&H. We worked strike duty together. He was a good man. My condolences to the family.
