Dr. Richard A. Piper – 77 years old
Dr. Richard Piper, 77 years old went to be with our Lord on October 13, 2025 at his home in St. Louis surrounded by his wife Laurie. His deep love for his family and deep love for God supported him for many years in his physical struggles and ultimately gave him peace.
Richard was born May 1, 1948 in St. Louis, MO. The son of the late Dr. August Piper Sr. and Marcella Piper.
Richard attended Sumner High School in St. Louis, Howard University in Washington D.C. and received his doctorate of Dental Surgery from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN May29, 1983.
Richard met Laurie, the love of his life and best friend 32 years ago. Together they share four children, Ashley Nicole Piper, his greatest joy, Eli Howry, Damion Brown, and Adrian Brown. He was blessed with beautiful grandchildren.
Richard’s faith and family were the best of who he was as a husband, father, and friend.
Richard’s passion in dentistry was working with underprivileged. Richard was all about movement. He took great delight in flying his remote control planes and engineering his trains, and heading to the YMCA.
His adventurous personality was contagious and his laughter would fill a room.
Richard touched the lives of all who knew him on a daily basis. He will be forever in the hearts of those who loved him and those who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Laurie, his daughter Ashley, stepsons Eli, Damion (Alexandra), Adrian (Kendra) and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Dr. August and Marcella Piper, his brothers Dr. August Jr. and Dr. Gordon Piper.
Celebration of life is not scheduled at this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Fuel Pack Ministries at Grace Church 2695 Creve Coeur Mill Rd., Maryland Heights, MO 63043.

We’ll miss you Piper. You gave my friend Laurie such love and commitment. The earth has lost a good one but the heavenly realm has gained angel.
My good friend and fellow dentist, Richard was a gracious and humble man who could always be depended upon. He had a bright smile for all and will certainly be missed.
I have known the Piper family practically all of my life. I attended Benton Grade School with his brother Gordon. I would run into Mrs. Piper at various events & she was always so gracious. This family will truly be missed.
