Richard Priest

Richard Priest, who died December 18, was born in Providence, Rhode Island. He received his BA from Columbia University and his MA from the University of Connecticut. He was involved from the beginning in the merger that created the Atlantic Richfield Oil Company. He then served as Vice President of Finance and Administration for the company. Later, he became the first Vice President of Finance and Administration for the New York Stock Exchange. After leaving the NYSE, he became the Managing Partner of Kaye Scholer Law Firm in New York. Dick finished his working career at the Bryan Cave Law Firm in St. Louis, where he was also Managing Partner. After retiring in 1991, Dick volunteered in numerous organizations. For more than twenty-five years he had an office at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, where he counselled seniors regarding Medicare and secondary insurance options. He also spent more than twenty-five years at SCORE, helping people start or grow small businesses. Dick was also on the board of United for Kids and served on the Advisory Committee of the Supreme Court of Missouri for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Karen, his son Adam (Deb), his daughter Andrea, his brother Aaron (Arleen), nephews Jeffrey (Valerie), David and Michael (Jana), two granddaughters and five grand nephews. His sister, Priscilla Husserl, pre-deceased him. He was 88 years old.
