Richard “Scott” Provance

Richard “Scott” Provance 77

Scott was born in Kittery Maine on December 22, 1944, to Richard and Marilyn Provance. He was the second born of 6 kids. He has one older sister Judy Heil (John), and four younger brothers. Roger Provance (Christy), Randy Provance (Mary), Curtis Provance (Kathy), and Christopher Provance (Nancy).

Scott has four children. Laurie O’Brien (Dan), Kimberli Krutsch (David), Rick Provance (Suzy), and Aaron Roediger (Colleen). He had 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Scott lived most of his life in the St. Louis area with his loving wife Karen. Scott had a bachelor’s degree and later in life earned an electrical engineering degree. Throughout his life, he was in the trucking business, owning and operating a small fleet of trucks.  Finance and business, and home improvement sales.  Scott was quite intelligent and a jack of all trades. His friends and family, however, would say his sense of humor was by far his trademark. He never met a stranger and could talk about anything and everything. Scott spent many years as a member of the Gardenville Masonic Lodge #455 earning the top rank of Worshipful Master in 1993. Scott and Karen were members of the Concord Trinity United Methodist Church. Scott was president of the men’s club and a member of the Travelers adult Sunday school class since 1985.

Scott remained sharp as a tack until the very end when his body simply could not continue. There will be a celebration of life at a later date for close family and friends. In Leu of flowers, any contributions to the National Kidney Foundation would be appreciated.
