Rick Gehlert

Rick Gehlert, 68, of Owensville, Mo, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2022, at Bentwood Nursing And Rehab in Florissant, Mo.

He was born September 10, 1953, to Lee and Norma (Vogt) Gehlert in Washington, Mo.

Rick owned a CB Shop for years and enjoyed playing music with several bands throughout the years. He was also a 911 dispatcher before being struck by lightning in 1993. Music was his passion and there are very few towns that he hasn’t played a show in. He also loved amateur radio and belonged to the Sullivan Amateur Radio Club. Above everything else he loved his family and friends, Rick was the life of the party and loved entertaining and his showmanship and entertainment skills will be missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Norma; daughter, Jennifer Lock; and brothers, Leroy Houston and Ronnie DeBerry.

He is survived by his son, Cody Gehlert, and his wife, Ashley, of Owensville; lifelong companion, Wilma Gehlert, of Owensville; his son-in-law, Scott Lock; granddaughters, Jessica and Jodi Lock, of Owensville; brothers, Chris and Edward Gehlert, of Belle; one sister, Debbie Carver, of Belle; his best friend and band mate of 46 years, Levan Guinn, of Cooper Hill, and many more family and friends.

Celebration of Life (Jam Session) will be held at the VFW in Owensville, Tuesday April 19, from 6-9 P.M.
