Rita Ann Herman (Gilmour), 77, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at her residence.

Rita was born on August 7, 1940 in Aberdeen, South Dakota, the daughter of the late Bernard and Irene Gilmour.

Rita grew up in Aberdeen, South Dakota, and graduated from Central High School. She faithfully served as a U.S. Federal Civilian for over 24 years at numerous locations until her retirement in 1996. She was an amazing cook, enjoyed word search puzzles, and watching Netflix.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents Bernard Gilmour, Irene Gilmour (Kuckelburg), sister Marilyn Gilmour, and brother Darryl Gilmour.

Those left to cherish her memory include her brother Duane Gilmour and wife Sorada, her two daughters Kimberly Herman, Michelle Hinkle (Herman) and husband Scott Hinkle, her son Todd Herman and wife Susan Herman (Dillow), and her seven grandchildren; Julian Atencio, Zachary Herman, Dorian Atencio, Adrian Atencio, Todd Herman, Jr., Matthew Herman, and Emanuel Herman.
