Rita F. Johnson
Rita F. Johnson, of St. Louis, MO, passed away on November 13, 2022 after a victorious battle with breast cancer. Rita was born September 22, 1947 to Imogene Davis of Hannibal, MO. She was raised by her grandmother Anna Conley, along with Dorothy and Gale Conley.
Rita graduated from high school in Hannibal, MO in 1965. After graduation she moved to St. Louis, MO where she continued her education at Gradwohl School of Medical Technology. At this school she met her life long friends, Mary Fitch, Jean Jackson, and Patricia Ross. Rita retired in 2009 after being a Medical Technologist specializing in Microbiology after 42 years.
Rita was a combination of many things to different people in her life. She was kind, loving, gentle, and compassionate but she could also be straight-to-the-point, tough, and abrupt. She was taller than the 5’0 that she was blessed with and always the life of the party. She was a fierce animal lover of all kinds. She was sassy, sexy, spicy, and sweet, but most of all, to have known Rita was to know love and to have someone with you no matter what.
She was predeceased by her mother, Imogene Davis; her grandmother who raised her, Anna Conley; Her cousin who was her sister, Dorothy Conley; Her cousin, Billy Conley; Her uncles, Donnie Conley and Theodore Conley; and her niece LaShonda Davis.
She leaves behind her beloved family: Niece Michelle (Conley) Culpepper and her daughter Taylor Nunnelly. Taylor’s children: Kamora Kemp, Vincent Currie, Joi Currie, William (Reign) Currie. Also surviving is her nephew Derwin Conley; Cousin Gale Conley; close best friends Mary Fitch, Jean Jackson, Jennifer, and Kim. Rita leaves behind a host of other beloved family and friends and her beloved fur-baby, Max.
A celebration of her life will occur at her home, November 19, 2022.
We all have been truly blessed by this phenomenal spirit that was Rita.
I will miss you..
