Robert “Bob” Meyer

Robert “Bob” Charles Meyer, age 55, of Arnold, Missouri passed away from ALS on April 8, 2021. Bob was born on November 18, 1965, to Edward Sr. and Joan Meyer, whom he loved dearly. Bob was a devoted brother to Edward (Michele) Meyer Jr. and Joan (Gary) McLarry. He was a phenomenal uncle to Lauren (Gavin) Taylor, Benjamin McLarry, Erin McLarry; and a remarkable great uncle to Corbin and Caden Taylor.

After graduating from Fox High School in 1984, Bob studied at the Memphis College of Arts, where he met his life-long friend, Laura Molnar. In addition to always putting family first, Bob worked at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch as a graphic art designer. Bob loved the great outdoors, visiting the family Christmas Tree Farm, traveling the world, hiking, and spending time with friends and family. Bob was a die-hard fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and attended many games.

Bob was the best uncle! He never hesitated to tag along with his nieces and nephew to sporting or school events. He often drove in for the weekend, just to do whatever the kids wanted to do. Bob joined in on the yearly road trips, making memories all across the United States.

Bob is survived by his father, Edward Meyer, Sr., his siblings, Joan (Gary) McLarry, and Edward (Michele) Meyer Jr; his nieces Lauren (Gavin) Taylor and Erin McLarry; his nephew Benjamin McLarry; and his great nephews Corbin and Caden Taylor.

Bob will be missed tremendously, but his lively adventurous spirit will never be forgotten.

Sadly, I just found learned of Bob’s passing. I grew up with him at St. David and we graduated from Fox in the same class. We lost touch are that but I had heard he was working for the Post-Dispatch, which I thought was very cool. I worked in the newspaper business myself for more than 20 years. He was extremely talented and definitely one of the good guys. I wish we would have kept in touch more. Sending belated sympathies to his friends and family.
