Robert “Bobby” King

Robert “Bobby” King

47, of Crystal City, born on July 29 1977 and passed away on May 26, 2025, at Mercy Hospital. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri, to Laurie Summers of Crystal City and the late Robert “Big Bobby” King.

Bobby is survived by his mother, Laurie Summers, sister, Jill (David) Abrams; his beloved children, Haylee, Robert, Chloe, Ashlinn, and Taylor King; his nieces, Abby and Alivia Abrams; and many other cherished family members.

A devoted car enthusiast, Bobby had an undeniable passion for automobiles, especially classic cars. He loved working on them, polishing them to perfection, and listening to his favorite band, Chicago, as he admired his handiwork. His appreciation for craftsmanship and the timeless beauty of a well-tuned engine defined much of who he was.

Beyond his love for cars, Bobby embraced life’s simple joys. He loved the outdoors—casting a fishing line into the water, firing up the grill for a backyard barbecue, and soaking in the fresh air whenever he could. He also had a special love for carnivals, always eager to win that perfect stuffed animal for his kids. His skill with claw machines was unmatched, and if there was ever a chance to race go-karts, he’d take it—especially if it meant speeding past his children with a triumphant grin.

Bobby’s legacy lives on in the love he shared, the laughter he brought, and the memories he created with those who knew him best. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

A Celebration of Life will be held this July. More details will be shared soon.
