Robert Dale Herr Sr.

Robert (Bob) Dale Herr, Sr. quietly passed away with family surrounding him with love in St. Louis on January 26, 2018. He was born in Windsor, Missouri November 12, 1933, the son of the late Roy and Willa (nee Hampton) Herr.

Bob graduated from Normandy High School in 1952 and married Gloria Pence from Litchfield, Illinois on July 16, 1955. Bob worked most of his life in the financial industry for various companies including: Johnny Londoff Chevrolet, Volkswagon MidAmerica, United Van Lines and Ryder Transportation. One of his most prized accomplishments was owning a service station. Bob was a member of Webster Groves Christian Church, St. Louis Area Woodcarvers, Rafter Rockers and Gateway Wagoneers. He enjoyed attending Black Powder Rendezvous and traveling and volunteering with his wife, Gloria for The County Older Resident Programs (CORP) and Touhill Performing Arts Center.

He is survived by his wife Gloria (nee Pence) and his children and grandchildren Julie (Larry) Orlando and Larry Jr. (Angel) Orlando, Michelle Bess; Laura (Doug) Moellering and Sam (Barrie) Moellering, Molly Moellering; Roy Herr and Tony Herr; Robert Jr. (Julie) Herr and Bode Hosking, Sam Herr, and Alex Herr, Tom Herr (mother Cheryl Crosby); Susan (Doug) Tuttle and Allison Tuttle, Harrison Tuttle. Great grandchildren Brandon and Jordan Orlando and Gabriella and Kyle Bess.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are appreciated to Doctors Without Borders or Webster Groves Christian Church.

Memorial visitation: 10 a.m. February 10

Memorial service: 11 a.m.

Webster Groves Christian Church.

All family and friends are invited to join in a luncheon to celebrate Bob’s life.

    Gloria & Family – We are very saddened to hear of Bob’s passing.
    Having known him for 65 years – he had been a big part of our lives for many years.
