Robert Dixon
Robert Dixon was born in St. Louis, Missouri on February 3, 1953 to the union of Johnnie Mae and Johnnie Dixon who preceded him in death. He was the second oldest of his siblings.
He professed his hope in Christ at an early age. He was self employed as a band member for many years playing his beloved guitar, Gateway Bus Company, Dupont and also at Mt. Pleasant M.B. Church as one of their musicians.
Robert met and married his 1st wife Lavette and to this union no children were born and she preceded him in death. He later married Audrey Johnson in 1986 and to this union 2 sons were born, Joshua and Deandre Dixon. He also raised his stepson Antwane Lofton. Brandy Dixon was also adopted to this union.
Robert was a member of the Mt. Pleasant M.B. Church for many years and enjoyed playing his guitar and had a great love of music and expressed this love whenever he could.
Robert played at Mt. Pleasant M.B. Church for many years until his health failed him and God called him home. He departed this life on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 10am at his home and has left this plain to move to the next level where God has opened his arms to greet him. Robert leaves to cherish his memory his children, Antwane, Joshua, Dandre and Brandy, his sisters Stella, Corlis and Valerie, brother Michael, Terry and Jerry and Rev. Johnny Dixon who preceded him in death, uncle Rev. Curtis Shelton, Sr., aunts, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
