Robert Kammien
Robert Kammien of St. Louis, December 28, 1932 – November 11, 2013. Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends, into the loving arms of our Lord. He was the son of the late Harry and Lorene Kammien. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Shirley (Louvier) Kammien, and his brothers Guy (Gen) Kammien, Larry (Pat) Kammien, his sisters Shirley (Gene) Bloodworth, and Pam (Pat) McEntee; loving father of Michael (Kathy) Kammien, Scott Kammien, Kelly (Rick) Nowacki; cherished grandfather of Joey, Jacob, Dakota, Jack (Roxanne), and great-grandfather of Stella; loving uncle, great-uncle, friend of many, and hero to all who met him. He had a long career with Union Electric for 35 years, was a loyal member of the Clowns athletic association for ~65 years, had coffee with his “old neighborhood childhood buddies” every Tuesday, and Wednesday morning breakfast with his “UE buddies”. One of Bob’s proudest accomplishments was a short career with the St. Louis Cardinals in the minor league in 1953 before he was drafted into the US Army, where he served with his brother and best friend, Guy. His beautiful smile and loving disposition will be missed by all!!
A memorial service will be held at St. Cronan’s Church, 1202 Boyle Ave. 63110, on Tuesday, November 19, 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. visitation, followed by mass at 7:00 p.m. Donations may be made in his memory to: Sustainable Therapy (722 Yale Ave. St. Louis, Mo. 63130), or The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
