Robert Spencer Cochrane
The Reverend Robert (Bob) Spencer Cochrane, 65, of High Ridge, Missouri, passed away on December 28, 2017 at St. Clair Hospital, Fenton, Missouri, after a brief illness.
Bob was born in Kansas City, Missouri on October 30, 1952. He graduated from Ladue High School, attended Concordia Junior College in Austin, Texas, and continued on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree of Fine Arts in 1975 from Concordia College in Fort Wayne, Indiana. In 1979, he received his Master of Divinity degree from Concordia Theological Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri.
Bob spent 38 years in the ministry of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod serving congregations in Hinton and Watonga, Oklahoma; Warner Robbins, Georgia; and providing care ministry and preaching services to numerous congregations; with 18 of those years as a Chaplin in the National Guard and the LCMS Armed Forces.
Bob was proceeded in death by his parents Paul Cochrane and Virginia Cochrane nee Sender. He is survived by his sister Barbara Reed (Harry) of New Jersey, his three children, Joshua A (Sarah) of House Springs, MO; Christopher A (Amy) of Pevely, MO; and James P (Shiloh) of Dittmer, MO, 6 grandchildren, his nieces and nephews.
A memorial service, officiated by Pastor Bilgreen, will be held 3 pm. on January 13, 2018 at Cedar Hill Lutheran Church, 8600 Silver Lane, Cedar Hill, MO 63016.
In lieu for flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to Cedar Hill Lutheran Church or Concordia Seminary in St. Louis.

We’ve lost a long-time friend, fellow traveler, college classmate, co-church worker, and down-to-earth, caring Christian man. May God be with each of you, Josh, Chris, James and your families, during this time of loss by remembering the past but rejoicing in the future with God and life eternal!

I worked with Bob a lot thru Partners In Urban Ministry and St. Jacobi Lutheran. We often had lunch together and became good friends. I’m sorry I lost touch with him lately due to my work. He will be missed.

My condolences go out to Bob’s family. We went to church with Bob at Village Lutheran Church in Ladue. We had many fun times with youth group. I am sorry I lost touch with him.
