Robin Denise Bohme
On Friday, November 8th, we lost our mother, Robin Denise Bohme [maiden name, Armitage]. She died peacefully, at the age of 64, following a fourteen-month battle with pancreatic cancer. While heartbroken, we are comforted by the fact that she is no longer in pain and can rest in peace.
Robin is survived by her mother, Joan Armitage of Lake Worth, FL.; her brother, Jeff Armitage of Peterborough, Ontario; her sister, Beverly Armitage of Peterborough, Ontario; her children, Bryan (St. Louis, MO) and Lisa (Chattanooga, TN); and grandchildren, Hayden and Teddy (St. Louis, MO).
Robin was born and raised in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada and is the Daughter of Ron and Joan Armitage. Growing up on a farm, her childhood years were spent outdoors tending to animals and the premises. It was in these formative years that she developed a passion for the outdoors and animals. She was a bright student and well-liked amongst her peers. After graduating from Durham College in 1981, began her career working at IBM as an Information Specialist.
After six years of working at IBM, Robin stayed home to raise her two children. Later in life, she returned to work where she was able to connect to her childhood by serving farmers as a Seed Service Advisor for Monsanto in St. Louis.
Her family will remember her strength, and kind, light-hearted spirit. Through all the tough times in life – including her last days fighting cancer – Robin knew how to find humor in a situation and cut the tension in a room. Her children will remember how easy she was to talk to and confide in and will greatly miss the comfort of her conversation.
Robin adored her grandchildren. Anyone who spoke with her about Hayden and Teddy could see how they lifted her spirits and restored energy in her life. They made her laugh, and she knew how to do the same for them. We will miss the moments of laughing with her but know she will be watching over them from heaven.
The family is planning a Celebration of Life in St. Louis, Missouri. More details will follow soon.
