Roger Johnson

Roger Carroll Johnson of St. Louis, Missouri passed away peacefully, at home, on December 15, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on November 3, 1950, Roger was the beloved son of the late Paul Johnson and Helen Johnson (nee Robinson) and brother to Jane and Brenda. Roger was a devoted husband to Sara Johnson (nee Coughlin) for 56 wonderful years. He was a loving brother, father, uncle and grandfather.

He is survived by his sister, Brenda, his wife, Sara; children Mary and Michael (son-in-law), Cristy and Jeff (son-in-law), and Valerie; five beautiful granddaughters, Amy, Ali, Carly, Kira and Kiana; and many dear and nieces and nephews.

Roger was preceded in death by his sister Jane and his parents. He worked for UPS for 35 years and was an active member of Eliot Chapel. He loved family, fishing and home-grown tomatoes.

Roger inspired others to overcome the obstacles that life threw at them as he faced his own with courage, grace and dignity. His love and lessons will be carried forward by all of those he touched. He was a great husband, loving son, brother, father, grandfather, friend and incredible human. He will be missed greatly.

In lieu of cards and flowers, memorial donations may be made in Roger’s honor to the American Cancer Society or the Humane Society of Missouri.

Roger was an incredible man, loving and kind, an inspiration to all who knew and loved him. He was my baby brother and he will always have a special place in my heart.

Roger was my cousin and we had a lot of fun together as teenagers. He loved to play pinochle and always had some funny joke to tell. I know he was devoted to his wife Sarah and family. He will be missed.

I hate hearing bad news about people I’ve known. Roger was a straight up man. Since we cannot stop the aging process we just carry on the best we can. I live in Hot Springs Arkansas. Have for several years. Whenever I walk down the main street Central Avenue people yell out my name. I’m a known character. Cannot believe I’m 75 years old. But I am in excellent health. I live on the 12th floor of a high rise so I can see most of the city from my Apt. My place is on the side of West Mountain. The deer walk down and we all feed them. Be safe and kind. Used to write to Skip alot but have stopped. Don’t understand him at all.
