Ronald Harold Griffin, 71 years of age, died at 6:53am, Monday, May 29, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

He was born August 28, 1951, in Fieldon, Illinois, one of five children born to the late Harold and Wilma Griffin.

At the age of eighteen, Ron married Mildred Jones on June 21, 1969. They had two children, Dale Ronald and Pamela Jean, in their 53 years
of marriage.

Ron was a hardworking man who loved fishing, hunting, driving in the mountains, dancing, and spending time with his family. He would go out of his way to help his family. After marrying Mildred, he worked at Olin Glass in Alton, IL for 10 years. They then moved to Goldbar, Washington, where he was a foreman for Alaska Outport barge line, where they moved freight from Seattle to Alaska. In 2008 he and Mildred returned to Illinois and purchased property in Brownstown where he lived the rest of his life.

Surviving Ron is his wife Mildred, daughter and her spouse, Pam and Johnnie Basden of New Minden, Illinois; twelve grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, three nieces, and one nephew; along with a sister Virginia and sister-in-law Virginia Griffin.

In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by a son Dale Ronald: two brothers, David, and Mitchell: one sister, Rosemary: and one brother-in-law, Paul Ward.
