Rosarina Probert Obituary Picture (1)

Rosarina Probert

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Rosarina (Rose) Probert, (nee Albano) on Sunday, February 15th, 2026.

She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, David, son Dylan, daughter Jessica, and daughter in law Paige.

Dear sister of Salvatore (Lisa), Franca and Doris, and sister-in-law to Kathryn Pereira (Ric) and John Probert (Janet).

Predeceased by her parents Giuseppe and Maria Albano, Nonna and namesake Rosarina, along with her in-laws Norman and Joanne Probert.

Loved as a daughter by her many Zia’s and Zio’s (aunts and uncles).

Numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends also share in the sorrow.

Rose was born in San Giovanni in Fiore, Italy on May 8th, 1963.  With her family she immigrated to Windsor, Ontario Canada in 1970.

Rose spent the last 25 years with her family in the United States residing in Decatur, Illinois; Quincy, Illinois, Leawood Kansas and O’Fallon Missouri.

She left an everlasting gift of generosity and kindness in all of these and other locations.

Rose was a registered nurse who worked at Hutzel Hospital, Detroit Michigan in the neo-natal intensive care unit, until moving to the United States in 2001.

In Quincy she was a dedicated pre-school teacher where she continued to nurture her passion of guiding and loving young people.

Diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2017 she battled with grace and beauty for 9 years; always with a smile of encouragement to those around her.

Sincere gratitude to all of her doctors, nurses and caregivers in providing healing comfort and love throughout her journey.

A special recognition of those at Evelyn’s house who administered to Rose with compassion in her last days.

Rose will be deeply missed by all, but we’ll take comfort in knowing her suffering is over and she resides in the gentle embrace of her Savior.

Rosa, was my beautiful and caring cousin with a gentle soul. Rosa, was also like a sister to myself and my sister Rosarina. She was also so wonderful to my wife Debora. She was not only a niece but like a daughter to my parents Sistino and Rosetta Albano. I have so many profound memories of my beautiful cousin Rosa that words cannot explain. God has gained a very special angel. I pray that God will give all of us her patience and resilience, not only the way she lived her life, but even through her long battle with cancer. Rosa took such a serious disease and battled it with such grace and courage. Even through her battle with cancer, and when she was weak and in pain, she would find the strength to come visit our families in Windsor. Rosa would make it seem as if it was just an ordinary visit always putting our families before her own needs. Rosa, you were a great wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend, but most of all, your faith to God is what shined the most and thats why I know that God has taken you to strengthen his kingdom in heaven. We will meet you again one day to share our large italian meal and a wonderful glass of vino. But, until then, I want you to know that you will forever be in our thoughts and prayers. I ask that you watch over us down here. Until we meet again, know that you will forever hold a big piece in our hearts. I love you my beautiful cousin and rest in peace. Love little Sal, Deb and Nino Albano.

Our sincerest condolences to the Probert and Albano families. We knew Rose as a gentle soul and a deeply devoted Wife and Mother. She was a tremendous fighter. This world has lost a special person.
Che la sua anima riposi in pace.
    With all our prayers,

This picture shows what a beautiful soul Rose was. I could not have asked for a better sister in law and friend. She made everyone better just being around her. I will miss her always.
    Love Kath.
